Formeta Design at Design Week Türkiye 2021

The studio's exhibition stand, the public launch of Carryfix, and a Design Turkey Good Design Award for the ROQU Unibody e-Scooter.

Design Week Türkiye is Turkey’s national design event, organized by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) to promote design-driven innovation, industrial development and the global competitiveness of Turkish products. Bringing together designers, manufacturers, technology companies, public institutions and universities, the event serves as a platform for exhibitions, conferences, award ceremonies and networking activities that connect the country’s design community with industry. Since its inception, Design Week Türkiye has welcomed more than 200,000 visitors across its editions and has become one of the country’s leading annual gatherings dedicated to design and innovation.

Held alongside the exhibition, the Design Turkey Industrial Design Awards are jointly organized by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye, the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) and the Industrial Designers’ Society of Turkey (ETMK). Established to encourage the strategic use of industrial design in product development and manufacturing, the awards recognize products that demonstrate innovation, functionality, manufacturability and commercial value across a wide range of industries. Together, Design Week Türkiye and the Design Turkey Awards provide a national platform for showcasing new products, celebrating design excellence and strengthening the relationship between design and industry.

Held at Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul on December 17–18, 2021, Design Week Türkiye brought together participants from across Turkey’s design ecosystem. Formeta Design participated with a dedicated exhibition stand, presenting a range of industrial design projects while introducing Carryfix to the public for the first time.

Held at Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul on December 17–18, 2021, Design Week Türkiye brought together designers, manufacturers, public institutions and technology companies from across Turkey. Formeta Design participated with a dedicated exhibition stand, presenting a range of industrial design projects while introducing Carryfix to the public for the first time.

The Formeta Stand

The stand featured projects developed for both Turkish and international clients across mobility, healthcare, consumer products and industrial equipment, reflecting Formeta’s multidisciplinary approach to industrial design and product development.

Launching Carryfix

One of the highlights of the exhibition was the public launch of Carryfix. Unlike the client-based projects on show at the stand, Carryfix was conceived, designed, engineered and brought to market entirely by Formeta Design under its own consumer brand, Formeta House — marking the brand’s first public appearance. From industrial design and engineering to branding, packaging and manufacturing, the project represented Formeta’s first fully independent consumer product brought to market.

Carryfix was presented alongside its branding, packaging and supporting product ecosystem, illustrating Formeta Design’s end-to-end approach to consumer product development.

Design Turkey Good Design Award

During the same event, the ROQU Unibody e-Scooter, designed by Formeta Design, received a Good Design Award at the Design Turkey Industrial Design Awards, organized by the Ministry of Trade, TİM and ETMK. The award recognized the project as part of Turkey’s national industrial design program and was presented during the official Design Week Türkiye ceremony. The award ceremony took place as part of Design Week Türkiye, bringing the exhibition and the national industrial design awards together within the same event.

Together, these milestones reflected Formeta Design’s growing transition from client-focused consultancy to a broader design practice encompassing independent product development, public exhibition and nationally recognized industrial design.
