Based in Istanbul and working globally, Formeta Design is an independent industrial design consultancy specializing in consumer product design, healthcare solutions, smart transportation, and industrial systems. Since 2012, we’ve turned bold ideas into tangible, impactful products across a wide range of industries, from consumer goods to mobility and healthcare.

Led by award-winning designer Mert Sezer, our studio combines strategy, aesthetics, and engineering into every project. We believe good design doesn’t just look good; it solves real problems, connects with users, and drives product innovation.

Our team works hands-on with clients, from early product strategy to final prototype. Whether you’re a startup developing your first product or an established company optimizing an existing system, we bring a clear, thoughtful approach that bridges creativity and functionality. To keep that process transparent, every project runs through DesignLogger, our own project-tracking platform.

Formeta Design was originally founded as Mertadam Design in 2012, and rebranded as Formeta Design in 2020 to reflect its international vision and to build a more universal brand identity. Today, Formeta provides design services across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States.

Formeta Design was founded by Mert Sezer, joined by Melda Yanmaz as partner, and the two continue to lead the studio together with a shared commitment to innovation, aesthetics, and strategic design thinking. Since its establishment, the studio has delivered design solutions for over 50 companies across a wide range of industries. In 2022, Formeta House launched its first original product, Carryfix, and in 2026, the studio introduced DesignLogger, extending its internal process-tracking tool into a platform clients can use to follow their own projects.

In addition to his role at Formeta, Mert is the managing partner of Molenore, a design brand specializing in narrative-driven furniture accessories. He also mentors startups at ITU SEED, one of Europe’s top incubation centers, and serves on the advisory board of the Industrial Design Department at Marmara University. From 2020 to 2023, he served as the President of the Istanbul Branch of the Industrial Designers’ Society of Turkey.

We believe design is a strategic tool, one that creates real impact when aligned with knowledge, empathy, and innovation. Beyond client projects, we’re committed to building a stronger design culture at both national and international levels. Through training programs, design thinking workshops, and consulting, we help organizations build their own internal design capacity and integrate design into their culture and decision-making.
