SAFELOCK is a built-in oven concept developed by Formeta Design around door interaction and control. The proposal investigates a rotating handle and locking system as part of the overall product form.

The concept also explores electrochromic glass, allowing the visibility of the oven interior to change, and a mobile connection for monitoring. The front interface and physical handle are considered together rather than as separate additions.
SAFELOCK uses these ideas to examine a different relationship between cooking, access and visibility. Its features are concept proposals and have not been presented here as certified safety functions.
