AEC is an angled cooker hood designed by Formeta Design for Ferre. A projecting section brings the control panel in front of the user, addressing the awkward access associated with controls placed directly on a sloping surface.

Design Approach
Rounded glass edges follow the form of the enclosure. Silk-screened graphics and push buttons organise the control area, while two LED lights illuminate the cooking surface below.
The design starts with a specific interaction problem and uses the exterior architecture to respond to it. The control position becomes part of the product’s appearance as well as its use.
