In the design of T-ROX, we sought to balance the industrial strength and rigidity of metal with a more refined and approachable appearance. The sharp, harsh lines of traditional metal were softened using rounded edges, transforming the otherwise industrial feel into a semi-industrial yet elegant look. This design approach shifts away from the typical mass and volume that the metal structure conveys, instead employing asymmetric cuts to create a dynamic and sleek form. To further enhance usability, we placed the screen on these curved surfaces, ensuring that users have easy access to the control panel, resulting in a more intuitive and user-friendly interface.
One of the key innovations in the T-ROX design is its upward-opening mechanism, which differentiates it from conventional 3D printers. By utilizing the angled surfaces of the machine, we implemented a unique opening system that adds an element of surprise and sophistication to the user experience.
