At the core of Carryfix is a unique smart locking system that allows users to insert and remove shopping bags effortlessly by simply rotating the handle. Its intuitive design enables the handling of more than four bags simultaneously, gathering them in a controlled and organized manner. Why Should You Use Carryfix?

The handle design of most everyday bags is not ergonomically suited to the natural structure of the hand, particularly when carrying heavy or long-term loads. This can lead to posture issues and discomfort in the wrists and fingers. During use, the thumbs and little fingers are often pinched, making them more susceptible to pressure. Carryfix, designed by Formeta Design, addresses these challenges by considering the flexor muscles of the fingers and the structure of the wrist, making carrying a bag more comfortable and ergonomic.

Among its many features, three stand out as particularly important. First, Carryfix helps secure bag handles together during long-term transport, such as short trips, preventing them from separating when the bags are placed on the ground, ensuring a safer and more comfortable experience. Second, it allows multiple bags to be connected, enabling users to carry more than one bag at once, as if they were a single bag—ideal for activities such as sports or carrying baby items. Finally, and most importantly, Carryfix supports hand health and protects the flexor muscles while carrying heavy or immediate loads.

Unlike conventional control units, Hydrokon was developed with a deep understanding of industrial challenges and environmental risks. One of the primary concerns in HVAC applications is water exposure, which can lead to system malfunctions. To tackle this, we introduced a dual-layer top cover system that effectively separates electronic and plumbing components, ensuring maximum protection against water ingress.

Beyond technical considerations, our design approach focused on user convenience and visual harmony. Hydrokon follows a refined design language that aligns with Etna’s product family while maintaining a distinct modern and compact form.

Single & Dual Control Panel for HVAC System

Designed by Formeta Design, Hydropan is an LCD-equipped control panel developed for dual-pump booster systems. It operates in two distinct modes: electronic control and monitoring, ensuring efficient and reliable performance for industrial applications.

Innovative Design Approach

In the design process, a compact and minimal form was chosen to redefine the new aesthetic language of pump systems. The control panel features an industrial yet sleek appearance, enhanced with dynamic lines and carefully sculpted surfaces. Unlike its previous white version, high-gloss blue and red plastic materials were selected to create a visual distinction that aligns with the pump system’s identity. The blue unit is dedicated to control and monitoring, while the red unit serves for alarm and fire safety functions.

Innovation in Kitchen Design

The AEC Angled Cooker Hood, designed by Formeta Design for Ferre, represents a groundbreaking approach to kitchen ventilation and aesthetics. In a world where modern kitchens demand both high functionality and sleek design, the AEC hood offers a new solution that combines innovative features with cutting-edge design principles. The result is a cooker hood that not only performs exceptionally but also enhances the overall kitchen experience.

A common issue with traditional angled extractor hoods is the placement of the control panel on the angled surface, which often hinders efficient user interaction. To address this, Formeta Design reimagined the user experience by incorporating an extruded section that brings the control panel directly in front of the user. This design innovation ensures that users have easy, intuitive access to the controls, significantly improving the interaction and usability of the appliance. The addition of this extruded part not only enhances functionality but also contributes to the overall aesthetic of the AEC, adding a modern, sleek touch to its form.

The design of the AEC Angled Cooker Hood goes beyond functionality to include carefully considered details that elevate its appearance. The glass edges of the hood feature precisely edited fillets that align with the unique design language of the cooker hood, distinguishing it from other angled extractor hoods on the market. The control panel, with its silk screen printings and push-buttons, was crafted to complement the soft, sporty lines of the design, ensuring a seamless integration of form and function.

To further enhance the cooking experience, the AEC features two strategically positioned LED lights that illuminate the cooking area, placing the user at the center of the action. These lights, combined with the innovative design of the cooker hood, create a visually appealing and highly functional cooking environment.

In essence, the AEC Angled Cooker Hood is not just a kitchen appliance but a statement of modern design. With its user-focused control panel, sophisticated aesthetic, and advanced features, the AEC stands as a perfect example of how innovation in design can elevate the cooking experience while blending seamlessly with contemporary kitchen environments. Locator Device of the Infant & Asset Tracking System

The Locator device plays a pivotal role in IoT-based tracking solutions, serving as the bridge between edge devices and the central reader. This essential component ensures seamless connectivity within the system, enabling efficient communication and data transfer. As part of our collaboration with Borda Technology, a valued long-term business partner, Formeta Design was responsible for the complete industrial design process of the Locator. Our approach focused on creating a highly functional and aesthetically refined solution that meets the complex demands of modern IoT environments.

Through the integration of advanced IoT technologies, we developed a compact and intelligent design that optimizes both performance and adaptability. One of the key design challenges was the optional antenna, which needed to accommodate various ceiling types without compromising the product’s sleek appearance. To address this, we engineered a modular outer shell that discreetly houses the antenna while ensuring structural integrity and ease of installation. The Locator’s role as an intermediary between smart IoT edge devices and the main system demanded a design that prioritizes efficiency, durability, and ease of deployment.

Formeta Design’s expertise extended across the entire development process, from initial concept generation to final production. Our team conducted extensive research and ideation, refining the design through sketching, 3D modeling, and iterative prototyping. The mock-up phase allowed us to test and optimize usability, ensuring a seamless integration within IoT infrastructures. Additionally, we meticulously developed the molding design, streamlining the manufacturing process while maintaining the highest quality standards.

In response to the rapid advancements of Industry 4.0, IoT devices have evolved into more efficient and adaptable systems, giving rise to a specialized field known as ‘Design for IoT.’ As Formeta Design, we played a key role in shaping both the hardware and software aspects of Asset Tag, ensuring a seamless blend of functionality and usability.

One of the primary design principles we focused on was customization. To accommodate varying client needs, the device features a replaceable membrane on its top surface. This innovative approach allows companies to easily modify the device’s interface without requiring extensive redesigns, providing a cost-effective and adaptable solution for diverse industries.

The exterior form of Asset Tag was deliberately kept simple to maximize usability and flexibility. This streamlined design enables effortless attachment to various assets while also facilitating easy detection and removal when necessary. Its minimalistic structure ensures compatibility with different product types, making installation and management straightforward and efficient.

INFANT TAG

RFID Healthcare Tracking System

The Infant Tag Safety System is a state-of-the-art RFID solution designed to enhance the safety and security of newborns in delivery rooms and hospitals. Licensed by Borda Technology, this system includes various components such as infant-tags, mother-tags, badge-tags, locators, and readers, all working seamlessly together to prevent infant abductions and ensure accurate matching between mothers and their newborns.

In close collaboration with Borda Technology, Formeta Design managed the entire design process, including both hardware and software development. This collaboration resulted in the creation of the Infant Tag and Mother Tag, RFID tags specifically designed to ensure the correct matching of mother and infant. By utilizing a Real-Time Location System (RTLS), the Infant Tag system enables the monitoring of the infant’s location from birth until discharge, effectively eliminating the risk of kidnapping.

Each tag is equipped with an emergency nurse paging button, available on both the infant-tag and mother-tag, offering a direct and immediate way for the medical team to respond in case of an emergency. The simplicity and efficiency of this feature underscore the system’s commitment to user-friendliness and safety.

Formeta Design played a crucial role in bringing this innovative system to life. Our team was responsible for the industrial design, design management, concept development, and rapid prototyping. We designed the unified tag case that could be adapted for both the mother and infant, differing only in colors and printed images for a more personal touch. This thoughtful design approach ensured that the tags were both functional and easily recognizable.

The Infant Tag safety system is already being used in hospitals across multiple countries, helping to safeguard newborns in their critical first hours of life. It is a proud achievement for us at Formeta Design to have contributed to a solution that provides peace of mind to parents and healthcare professionals alike.

CONDENSING UNIT

Redefining Industrial Design

Condensing units, typically viewed as industrial assets, are often hidden away in the least visible corners of buildings, concealed by wire mesh or other materials. These units are typically placed outdoors, fulfilling a functional need while being overlooked from a design perspective. However, with a well-organized and thoughtful design approach, we’ve successfully redefined the perception of the condensing unit, transforming it from a utilitarian industrial fixture into an aesthetically appealing and functional product.

In close collaboration with Emerson, we embarked on a design journey to elevate the condensing unit, ensuring it met the high technological standards required for industrial applications while simultaneously enhancing its visual appeal. The goal was to take a component that was typically hidden from view and transform it into a product that integrates seamlessly into both its environment and the overall design of the building.

We carefully defined the parameters of the project to meet Emerson’s specific technological needs, ensuring that the condensing unit would function optimally while also embracing modern design principles. The new generation of Emerson’s condensing unit is not just an industrial necessity but a carefully considered object that reflects both form and functionality.

Through this design process, we changed the way users perceive condensing units. Instead of seeing them as cumbersome, industrial items, the redesigned unit now appears as a thoughtfully designed object that enhances the space it occupies. It is a solution that combines high performance with elegance, ensuring maximum productivity without sacrificing aesthetic value.

Orthero offers a modern, non-invasive alternative to traditional metal braces with its custom-made aligners. These aligners are designed to gradually and comfortably straighten teeth, providing a more discreet and convenient solution for patients seeking orthodontic treatment. Since its inception in 2015, Orthero has partnered with Formeta Design to create innovative design solutions that elevate their products and brand. From brand strategy to corporate identity, we have supported Orthero in delivering a seamless, user-centered experience.

One key component of Orthero’s treatment is the transparent aligners, which are custom-crafted to fit each patient’s unique dental structure. These aligners, made from clear plastic, are both discreet and effective, offering an aesthetic solution for those who want to straighten their teeth without the noticeable appearance of traditional metal braces. However, these aligners require a safe and practical way to be carried when not in use, which is where the retainer case comes in.

To address this need, we designed a case box for the aligners that is both functional and stylish. Unlike traditional medical boxes, which often have a utilitarian, clinical appearance, the case we created for Orthero looks more like a stylish accessory, offering a clean and sophisticated design that patients would be proud to carry. The design focuses on a pearl shell form, which aligns with the brand’s core identity. Orthero’s branding emphasizes the idea of turning teeth into something as precious and beautiful as pearls, and our design reflects this concept through its elegant and polished aesthetic.

Our design ensures that the retainer case is not only protective and practical but also a fashionable accessory that Orthero customers will want to carry with them. The case’s sleek and modern appearance eliminates the stigma often associated with carrying medical devices, making patients feel confident and proud of their orthodontic treatment. With this design, we have successfully merged function with elegance, allowing Orthero users to enjoy a high-end product that enhances both their dental care and their lifestyle.
